The Place That Tries To Keep You

Sam, Elise, and I went to an establishment for a good time.  This place was amazing yet there was an intentional vibe of insecurity put on by the place itself.  It was full of entertainment and drinks and people doing all kinds of supplied activities.  We were all sitting in a small indoor pool when I first witnessed the real thrill of going to this place.  They intentionally misspelled my name on our rather large floating drinks.  There was a man trying to make a call out on a phone by the pool.  The phone wasn't working properly.  No matter what the man dialed on the rotary he would be connected with someone who worked at the establishment laughing at him and assuring him that the phone worked and could call out.  There was also an employee next to the man randomly hanging up his call or dialing a random number.  This was the real reason for coming here.  The place was made to fuck with you.  After my drink bobbed too hard and was mixed with the pool water I became determined to explore and exploit this place for what it could really accomplish.  It was odd that that was what it took.  Elise, Sam, and I had been trying each other's drinks because they were different colors but the weren't tasting any differently.  When pool water got into my drink it suddenly looked like Elise's drink, and my brain started to really tick.  This place also hosted hotel rooms.  And we had one rented for the night.  Looking around and seeing employees subject customers to endless pranks of every variety made me wonder if we even had a room at all.  My search began.  I pulled an employee from his task by the bar and asked how to get to my room.  I gave him my name and he instructed me that my room was the "mirror room" (our door would have a mirror on it).  Not fully understanding the construction of the place, I was led to a maze of doors that appeared on rooms of all sizes and shapes just protruding from the middle of this vast floor space like a camping festival.  There were other people wandering this area.  Some clearly searching, and others, sometimes couples and groups, laughing and opening doors at random to see the thrills they may offer.  I finally find my way to a crude yet sizable shack like structure with a mirror covering the entire door.  It looked big enough to have maybe two twin beds with a bathroom attached from the outside.  I open the door.  Dimly yellow lit tile walls and floors with mirrors and various wood and nautical decorations we're everywhere...  it was a public restroom.  There was however another door with a large mirror on it.  I open it, and as I step through, another door on the other side of this new room closes.  This room was half as large as the previous one appearing to be constructed of various unfinished dark woods with a somehow even dimmer light... It was another bathroom.  There was a looming feeling that some people who came here never actually left this place.  It was unsure to tell if it would be because they became so intoxicated and immersed that they just decided to wander this wander land forever or if some found it truly impossible to escape.  I go through the door that closed upon my entry and found myself in a supply crawl space with various misplaced or broken bathroom parts.  Again there was a door opposite the one I entered through standing only a few feet high.  I crawled through it, stood up and was back in the ever expanding maze of mysterious doors.  I wondered if we even had a room at this point, and wanted to ask Sam and Elise about it as well as their experience so far.  Eventually finding my way back by the bar they spot me.  After hearing about some of the games they played, and telling them about my searching for our room, Sam expressed that he was ready to leave.  Elise thought it was a good idea, though she seemed to still be entranced by the place, and said it was probably for the best.  I contested purely based on the fact that we payed money for a room, and insisted that we at least get what we paid for.  We got some more to drink for the moment, and then I feel a familiar hand on my shoulder.  I turn around to see Justin, and behind him I see Dakota, Adrian, and Trevor.  It had seemed like forever since I had seen them, even more especially for Adrian.  Justin and I hugged so tight as I asked, "What are you guys doing here!?"  He holds me at arm's length and says, "We're here for you baddi."  I then hug Dakota who seems more excited than the others to be where he is.  When I hug Adrian I feel my eyes start to well up.  I held even more tightly, burying my face in his shoulder.  "Where have you been?  I've missed you."  I say as my eyes start to wet his shirt.  "I'm okay." he says, "I missed you too."  Hugging Trevor I realize that I'm not leaving this place any time soon.  United with my official squad of good-time-havers, mischief-managers, laugh-generators, and trouble-makers I see the interior of this building in a new adventurous light.  Sam and Elise are still thinking about leaving.  I wake up.
